MAKING THE CASE FOR JUSTICE

FCRA: Cooperating Attorney Network
Dear Colleague:
As you may know, the Florida Civil Rights Association (FCRA) is a statewide leader in the fight for the civil rights of individuals.
Through litigation, public education, and legal advocacy, FCRA has played a crucial role in combating discrimination across the State of Florida. Cooperating attorneys have always played an important role in our achievements; the commitment of attorneys is an integral part of FCRA's work.
FCRA's attorneys do an inestimable amount of work each year, litigating important cases across the state. The Cooperating Attorney Network is our effort to increase the number of cases we can handle. Some attorneys in our network become directly involved in our work by being our principal "cooperating counsel" in a case. Some assist us by drafting amicus briefs, which can carry their name or not, depending on the circumstances of their practice. Still others assist by undertaking a piece of legal research, provided to us for use in our work.
Of course, at any one time we can only take advantage of what a small number of you have to offer. Although we might not call on you for some time, we need to know you're there, all over the state. This is our own version of the inactive but ready reserves! I hope this is a circumstance you can understand.
FCRA do make legal referrals, we do maintain the names of attorneys who are sensitive to civil and human rights related issues.
FCRA is contacted by many individuals all over the state whose cases are not "test cases," to whom we would like to provide names of local attorneys sensitive to their issues. Even if you are unable to work with FCRA directly, please consider joining the Cooperating Attorney Network so that we may put you on our list for this purpose.
If you would like to join our network, please click on the link (picture) and take a moment to complete the information form. If you have any questions, e-mail us. Thanks again for your continued support. We look forward to hearing from you.
Very truly yours,
J Willie David, III President Florida Civil Rights Association
